Here’s a list of pharmacies and clinics in and near Lawrence and Douglas County that, as of Thursday afternoon, were offering booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccine for kids ages 12 to 15 who already received their first two doses of the Pfizer vaccine at least five months ago (on or before Aug. 6, 2021).

Where available, we’ve also included links to double-check eligibility and make an appointment online.

Public health officials Thursday expanded eligibility for the Pfizer booster shot to children between the ages 12 to 15. Moderately or severely immunocompromised children ages 5 to 11 also received permission to get an additional primary dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

As numbers of COVID cases hit record highs in Douglas County, health officials are encouraging everyone who’s eligible to get vaccinated or get their boosters if they haven’t already done so. Even if vaccinated people contract COVID-19, the vaccine helps prevent severe illness, hospitalization and death. The vaccine is free and does not require health insurance.

All people ages 12 and up who received the Pfizer vaccine are eligible for boosters five months after completing the primary series under the CDC’s updated guidelines. People ages 18 and up who received the Moderna vaccine can get a booster shot six months after completing the primary series. People who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine should get booster shots two months after their primary dose.
