Ottawa man, Iola woman killed in head-on crash; man and child seriously injured

Two people are dead and two others are seriously injured after a crash near Humboldt, Kansas, Monday morning.

Gordon Edward Lane, 62, of Ottawa, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado southbound on U.S. 169 Highway around 6:30 a.m. Monday, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol crash report. He went left of center and hit an oncoming truck head-on, according to the report.

The northbound vehicle was a Ford F-150 driven by Jaime Lynn Ellis, 45, of Iola. Neither Lane nor Ellis survived the crash, according to the report.

Also in the F-150 were passengers David Daniel Glaze, 42, of Carbondale, and Kylynn Collins, 6, of Iola. Both passengers suffered suspected serious injuries and were taken to Kansas City-area hospitals, according to the report.

All involved were wearing seat belts, the report says.

Humboldt is about 85 miles south of Lawrence in Allen County, Kansas.
