Construction work is causing reduced lanes on a southbound stretch of Naismith Drive, and next week the northbound roadway will be closed.
The inside, southbound lane of Naismith Drive from 19th to 21st streets is closed for approximately six to eight weeks.
“City crews recently started storm sewer replacement excavation work in the median on Naismith Drive near 20th Street,” according to a news release from the city. “It was anticipated that this work would impact traffic next week. However, due to a slope failure that exposed a gas line, the impacts will begin immediately.”
Starting Monday, May 16, northbound Naismith Drive from 19th Terrace to 21st Street will also be closed for six to eight weeks, according to the city.
“Signage and detours will be in place to direct traffic. Expect delays in the area and use alternate routes if possible,” the news release states.
