University of Kansas School of Music students are tuning up for the big return of the Collage Concert this weekend.
“The Collage Concert brings the best and brightest musical Jayhawks together and allows the community to experience KU’s vibrant music culture through performances from the KU School of Music students and faculty,” according to a news release from KU.
The free show is set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Lied Center.
This year’s concert will feature the KU Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Choir, a percussion group, Jazz Ensemble I, Wind Ensemble, student soloists and Chamber ensembles, according to the release.
The concert always concludes with “a rousing performance by the Marching Jayhawks.”
In addition, there will be a fundraiser gala ahead of the concert at the Lied Center Pavilion. Tickets to that event are $100 and can be purchased by donating at this link.
“All proceeds from the Collage Concert benefit the Student Opportunity Fund, a resource providing essential financial support for School of Music students participating in competitions, presentations and conferences throughout the country and beyond,” according to the release.
