The downtown expansion of 1900 Barker Bakery and Cafe — called 1900 Barker on Mass — opened its doors Monday morning.
“Softly opening as we still figure out our new space, we cannot wait to share this beautiful space with all of you,” according to a Facebook post from the bakery.
Toast, sourdough bagels and pastries will be some familiar items on the menu at 816 Massachusetts St., owner Taylor Petrehn said in an interview last month.
The new location has dine-in space to seat about 40 to 50 people. Petrehn imagines eventually providing fine wine and a choice collection of cocktails and beer to pair with breakfast pastries, toast and sandwiches. Menu items will build upon Petrehn’s successful breads.

The Mass Street store’s hours will be the same as its original location: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, according to the Facebook post.
Staff members invite the community to come say hello — and bring a friend.
