All are invited to join the Kansas Abortion Fund for an evening of music, food, prizes and drinks during the Fund-A-Thon celebration.

The event, set for 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 14 at Lucia, 1016 Massachusetts St., will raise money to support the organization’s goal of assisting all Kansans in need of financial support to obtain abortion care.

“100% of the proceeds will support Kansans who are seeking abortion care,” KAF Vice President Kelsey McManimie-Stines said via email. “KAF is a volunteer-run organization and has been since 1996. Last year, generous donations funded abortions for 511 Kansans.”

Although the party is free to attend, financial contributions of any amount are greatly appreciated. Anyone who donates will be entered into a raffle and given the chance to win KAF swag such as shirts, buttons and jackets. Attendees are welcome to create a team to raise money, or donate individually.

The Kansas-based string jazz band Mire Pral will perform, and Lawrence Wing Co. will have food available for purchase throughout the evening. Although there’s no dress code, McManimie-Stines says pro-abortion swag is always welcome.

Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to RSVP on the event’s Facebook page. If you can’t make it to the party but still wish to support the KAF’s mission, visit this link to make a donation.
