Clouds largely obscured Lawrence’s view of the partial solar eclipse Saturday morning, but that didn’t stop a crowd from showing up at Malott Hall.

KU’s department of physics and astronomy had welcomed the public to view the eclipse with department telescopes, but cloudy skies made it too difficult to see outdoors.

They moved the party inside to watch a livestream from NASA. (You can catch a replay at this link.)

A few folks also showed up to squint through the clouds with Astronomy Associates of Lawrence on the Lawrence Public Library lawn.

The next solar eclipse will be April 8, 2024. The sun should be about 85-90% eclipsed around 1:50 p.m. that day, viewing it from Lawrence. Learn more on NASA’s website.
