Lenexa, Kansas

Brian Thomas Clark, 41, of Lenexa, died unexpectedly at home, Feb. 8, 2024.

Brian was born April 21, 1982 to April Bradley Clark. He was adopted at a young age by his father, John Myrick Clark Sr.

Brian was lovably stubborn and boisterous, and a fierce protector of his loved ones and his cats. He was a very proud cat dad. Animals — even the tiniest kittens — adored him, despite his deep, booming voice. He was often serious and analytical, but when he laughed, he laughed heartily and gleefully.

He loved music, with taste spanning decades and a wide range of genres. He would have loved to watch his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, play in the Super Bowl again on Sunday.

Brian had recently gone back to college. He worked hard, overcame the odds and earned his Bachelor of Science in computer science from the University of Kansas School of Engineering in December 2020.

Brian leaves behind his loving partner, Starla Myers, and cats, Peppercorn and Princess Monkey, of the home; both parents, of the home; sister Amanda Clark, of Shawnee; sister Mackenzie Clark (Mac Moore), of Lawrence; sisters Kathie (Rocky) Deane and Lesley Clark, of Overland Park; uncle Samuel David Bradley III; many friends; and many, many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother and biggest believer, Janet Kay Bradley; grandfather, Samuel David Bradley II; and brother, John Myrick Clark Jr.
