Obituary: Rosalee Sue Nuñez Rodriguez

Rosalee Sue Nuñez Rodriguez, passed away on April 14, 2024 in Tulsa OK. She was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on December 6, 1941 to Refugio and Mary­Ann (Lopez) Hernandez in Independence KS. She graduated from Independence High School in 1960. She later moved and lived in Kansas City, MO, Lawrence, KS, and eventually Tulsa, OK.

Rosalee married John Nuñez August 29, 1964 and later divorced. She met her true love, Porfirio Arturo Rodriguez in 1996. Later they married on June 16, 2017.

Rosalee is survived by her loving husband Arturo Rodriguez and her four children: Richard Nuñez, Dionne (Stephen) Chávez, Christopher Nuñez, and Yvette (John) Herrera; four stepchildren, nine grandchildren; one brother “Cookie” ; four sisters Dee, Toni, Connie, and Jacque. Rosalee is also survived by a large, loving family of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary Lou Keeton and Rita Bernal.

A memorial service for Rosalee Nuñez Rodriguez, will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, Lawrence, KS.
