Douglas County community members can learn more about composting at upcoming free workshops through Common Ground, the community gardening and urban agriculture program.

Stan Ring, former Douglas County Extension horticulture program assistant and a Douglas County master gardener, will instruct the workshops.

Four workshops are scheduled. They’ll each cover the same materials, so attendees only need to go to one.

The workshops are free but the county asks that people please RSVP by email to ubayramoglu@douglascountyks.org to indicate which session they wish to attend.

Here are the whens and wheres:

6 p.m. Thursday, June 6 at Penn Street Community Garden, 1313 Pennsylvania St.
10 a.m. Sunday, June 9 at the Garden Incubator at John Taylor Park, 200 N. Seventh St.
6 p.m. Tuesday, June 18 at Growing Together Community Garden, West Third and Alabama streets
10 a.m. Saturday, June 22 at the Incubator Farm at U.S. Highway 24/40, across from Teepee Junction
