Lawrence school board members unanimously approved an increase of 4.08% to the district’s administrative salary pool without discussion during a special meeting Thursday evening.

Their approval will mean $245,520 in total increased cost to the district. Board members did not ask any questions or hold a discussion before voting 7-0 to approve the increase.

Information in the meeting agenda did not indicate the actual amounts of raises or averages per administrator.

The board has recently approved salary pool increases of 6.27% for classified staff — a 99-cent per hour raise — and 4.08% to the certified salary pool, for $1,400 increases to the base annual salaries for teachers.

Board members were also holding an executive session, or closed-door meeting, to interview the third finalist candidate for interim superintendent. The board aims to fill the interim position by Aug. 12.
