Douglas County Emergency Management will host an informal webinar Monday for community members interested in learning about plans for extreme weather emergency shelter.

“The purpose of the new plan is to equip community agencies and organizations with a resource to support the expansion of emergency sheltering during extreme weather conditions,” according to a news release from Douglas County

The 30-minute webinar will include information about the plan and “how community and faith groups can help with training, volunteering, supplies, and other supports,” according to a Facebook post from the county.

Misty Bosch-Hastings, director of the City of Lawrence’s Homeless Solutions Division, and Jill Jolicoeur, assistant Douglas County administrator, will be presenting.
