Baldwin man seriously injured in motorcycle crash

A 43-year-old man from Baldwin City was seriously injured in a crash Monday evening, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

“According to preliminary information, a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle, driven by the man, was southbound in the 400 block of E 1700 Road” around 6:30 p.m. Monday, according to DGSO. “The driver lost control, entered the northbound lane of traffic, and then crashed into the ditch.”

Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical transported the man to Overland Park Regional Medical Center with injuries that were serious but not believed to be life-threatening, according to DGSO.

Deputies were still investigating the cause of the crash as of 8:30 p.m. Monday.

DGSO had not released the man’s name as of the time of publication.
