4/7/1932 – 9/14/2024
Lawrence, KS

We are saddened to announce the passing of Juanita L. Lynch, known affectionately as Nita, on September 14, 2024, in Lawrence, Kansas. Born on April 7, 1932, in Hulbert, Oklahoma, Nita’s life was characterized by kindness and a deep commitment to education.

Nita began her academic journey in Oklahoma, later attending the University of Arkansas, where she met her husband, Roger. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Baker University and went on to receive a Master of Library Science from Emporia State University. Her career included serving as a secretary at Baker University and then as a school librarian at Baldwin High School and Perry-Lecompton High School, where she inspired many students with her love of literature.

Outside of her professional life, Nita enjoyed reading, birdwatching, and gardening. She also found joy in knitting, creating warmth in both her crafts and her relationships.

Nita was a devoted wife to Roger V. Lynch, who preceded her in death, as did their son, Christopher R. Lynch. She is survived by her sons, Steven T. Lynch of Kansas City, KS, and John P. Lynch of Lawrence, KS, as well as seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

As we remember Juanita L. Lynch, we honor a life filled with love and service to others. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

A service and interment will be at a later date in Oklahoma.
