Band students from Lawrence middle schools and the University of Kansas will join onstage Friday for a holiday concert, “Brassmas.”
Presented by the Lawrence school district, “Brassmas” brings the middle school musicians together with KU tuba, euphonium and trombone student ensembles for an afternoon of festive music.
The district first hosted the concert in December 2023 in hopes of making it an annual tradition.
Ensembles will play holiday classics including “Deck the Halls,” “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” Frosty the Snowman” and more, according to the concert program.
The concert is scheduled for noon Friday, Dec. 13 at the Lied Center, 1600 Stewart Drive.
It’s free to attend, but donations are welcome through an online fundraiser via payments.efundsforschools.com. “Your financial support will be used to supplement music arrangements and student meals on performance days,” according to the fundraiser page.
