Low brass musicians from across Lawrence filled the Lied Center stage Friday to perform holiday classics.

Lawrence middle schoolers were joined by brass players from the University of Kansas and the community to play familiar songs such as “Sleigh Ride,” “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch” and more, all a few octaves lower than normal.

It’s the second year of Brassmas, the low-brass gathering, a local version of Kansas City’s famous TubaChristmas.

Around 130 musicians performed throughout the concert.
