Kansas’ federal delegation, public invited to virtual town hall

Kansans and the Congressional delegation representing them in Washington, D.C., are invited to a town hall webinar Monday hosted by Women for Kansas.

The event — “How are Federal Policy Changes Impacting Kansans: A Kansas Congressional Delegation Town Hall Webinar” — is set for 7 p.m. Monday, April 7 via Zoom. Registration is available at this link.

U.S. Reps. Tracey Mann and Derek Schmidt, whose districts include part of Douglas County, as well as Reps. Sharice Davids and Ron Estes are invited to attend. U.S. Sens. Jerry Moran and Roger Marshall were also invited, according to event organizers.

Panelists will include Kansas Reps. Suzanne Wikle and Brooklynne Mosley and Sen. Marci Francisco, all of Lawrence. Representatives in fields of education, food pantries and more have been invited as well, according to information provided by the organization. Those in attendance will be able to ask questions of the panelists.

In addition, at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5, the local chapter of Women for Kansas will host editor Sherman Smith and members of the Kansas Reflector staff for a forum in the auditorium of the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont St.
