The agenda for the Lawrence school board’s meeting on Monday lacks any regular business items and only includes opening items, the consent agenda and public comment.
No new or old business nor any reports were on the board’s agenda as of Sunday afternoon.
Some items on the consent agenda — a list routinely approved in one motion unless a board member or the superintendent pulls an item for discussion — include bids to renovate the Facilities & Operations Department’s warehouse space, the purchase of eight new district vehicles, an amended athletic training contract with Lawrence Memorial Hospital to cover one-week sports camps only, and a purchase agreement for additional playground equipment at Deerfield Elementary School.
A 10-minute executive session, or closed-door, meeting to discuss personnel matters is set for the beginning of the meeting. Larry Englebrick, deputy superintendent, and Kristen Ryan, assistant superintendent and executive director of human resources, are invited to be present.
No action is set to follow.
The board meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, April 14 at district offices, 110 McDonald Drive.
Meetings are open to the public, livestreamed on the district’s YouTube channel, youtube.com/@USD497, and broadcast on Midco channel 26. Full meeting agendas are available on BoardDocs, via go.boarddocs.com.
To give public comment during the board meeting, sign up before the meeting starts either in person or by emailing PublicComment@usd497.org. Commenters may request to participate by Webex video/phone conferencing.
