A Lawrence bicyclist suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening outside Eudora, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The cyclist and a 70-year-old Lawrence man driving a Honda Element were both westbound in the 2000 block of North 1400 Road, also known as Old K-10, when the vehicle struck the cyclist just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Medics took the cyclist, a 30-year-old Lawrence man, to a Kansas City-area hospital by ambulance.
The cyclist remained hospitalized as of around noon Wednesday, according to DGSO.
Crash investigators closed North 1400 Road between East 2000 and Winchester roads for a few hours to work at the scene, and they reopened it after midnight Wednesday, according to DGSO.
