City contractors will begin maintenance work on Maine Street between Second and Fourth streets during the week of Monday, Sept. 15.

The southbound lane of Maine will be closed, according to a Friday announcement from the City of Lawrence.

A northbound lane will be kept open for northbound traffic only during the course of the work, “which includes access to the LMH Health emergency room,” according to the city.

The work is expected to be completed Friday, Oct. 10, “pending weather or other delays,” according to the city.
