A 40-year-old man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon on a highway northeast of Lawrence, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred at around 4:50 p.m. Saturday near U.S. Highway 24-40 near Kansas Highway 32 when the motorcyclist was westbound on U.S. 24-40, according to a news release from DGSO.
“According to preliminary information, the driver … attempted to pass a vehicle on the right and lost control of his Harley Davidson motorcycle and skid across the highway,” according to the release.
He was taken to a Kansas City-area hospital with serious injuries, according to the release.
