Three streets in southeastern Lawrence are closed for an emergency sanitary sewer main repair, according to the City of Lawrence.
Bonanza Street, Rawhide Lane and Harper Street south of East 27th Street will be closed for about two to three weeks while repairs are underway. Traffic will be detoured to Maverick Lane, according to the city.
“During inspection (Monday), crews identified a critical issue requiring immediate repair,” according to an announcement from the city.
“To address the problem and maintain sewer service, the City is installing temporary pumps and above-ground piping, including a 4-inch pipe laid across Bonanza St., Rawhide Ln., and Harper St.,” the announcement continued.
Folks visiting Prairie Park Nature Center should use East 28th Terrace, rather than Harper Street, to access the nature center.
“The City will provide updates as the project progresses via the City’s social media accounts,” according to the announcement.
