A Celebration of Life for Michael “Mike” R. Bray, 64, Lawrence will be held from 1-4 pm with a time of shared remembrances at 1:30 pm on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Meairs Farmstead 1173 E. 1400 Rd. Lawrence, KS.
Mike passed away on November 22, 2025, at LMH.
Mike was born October 29, 1961, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of Michael Thomas “Tom” and Bertie (Cox) Bray.
He graduated from Basehor Linwood High School in 1979; he later attended Colby Community College. He married Sherri Alford on November 12, 1983, at the Plymouth Congregational Church in Lawrence.
Mike was a farmer and dairyman and later was the founder of Bray Concrete. Mike was an avid tractor puller; he was on the Vinland and Douglas County Fair tractor pull committees. He was a member of Douglas County Farm Bureau, Dairy Farmers of America, National Antique Tractor Pulling Association and a 4-H member.
Survivors include his wife, Sherri Bray of the home, his children, Makayla L. Bray of Lawrence and Jerrett Bray of Maynard, Iowa; his mother, Bertie Bray of Lawrence; his sister, Robin Bray-Abram of Baldwin City, KS, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family suggest memorials in Mike’s name to either Douglas County 4-H or to LMH Oncology and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
