The Douglas County Economic Mobility Project will soon host a “Community Sensemaking Session” focused on how to support low-income and single-parent/caregiver families in the county.
Guests will hear data and stories from Douglas County Thrives, a project gathering perspectives of people from these groups. Facilitators from the University of Kansas Center for Public Partnerships and Research will lead small group discussions on the materials.
“The stories explore what it means to thrive, and what it feels like to just get by,” according to a news release about the event.
Light snacks will be offered at the session, which will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15 at the Lied Center Pavilion, 1600 Stewart Drive.
Event hosts ask attendees to RSVP by Dec. 11 by email to Jill Jolicoeur, assistant county administrator, at jjolicoeur@dgcoks.gov.
