Performers in Encore, Free State High School’s upperclassmen pop variety show, are gearing up to showcase music for all ages at the annual spring performance.

The show has been held every spring since the school’s opening in 1997.

For choir students, Encore helps to serve as a senior night. Senior students perform a song together toward the end of the performance and wear shirts that depict their future plans after graduation.

This year, the senior song will be “Thank You For the Music,” by ABBA. Although Encore is an upperclassmen show, freshman and sophomore students assist.

Students will perform a range of 30 songs, including “The Subway” by Chappell Roan, “White Winter Hymnal” by Fleet Foxes, and “It’s Raining Men” by The Weather Girls. The songs are student-led and choreographed.

The performances will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 5-7 at Free State High School, 4700 Overland Drive. Tickets are $10 and available at this link or on the night of the performance.
