Nothing says “springtime” like the splashes of bright color around town — some from daffodils, some from orange cones. Roadwork is popping up all over Lawrence.
Here are the latest updates on projects getting underway from the City of Lawrence. End dates of construction work are estimates that could change depending on weather and other delays.
Eastbound 19th Street to close from Mass. to Barker
Eastbound 19th Street will be closed between Massachusetts Street and Barker Avenue for storm sewer work in the area.
The closure will start Monday, April 6. Traffic will be detoured to East 23rd Street, according to the city.
That work is expected to wrap Monday, April 27.

The reduced lanes will stretch nearly a mile, between Clinton Parkway and Research Park Way, which is just south of Bob Billings Parkway.
The city anticipates the work will be completed in early May.
Mass Street to see intermittent closures
City crews will intermittently close locations of Massachusetts Street to repair crosswalks.
The street will be closed just north of 11th Street starting 6 a.m. Monday, March 30, and that closure should be removed by 1 p.m. the same day. There will be a signed detour in place.
Mass Street will close just south of 10th Street starting at 6 a.m. Tuesday, March 31. That work is also expected to wrap by 1 p.m. the same day.
West 4th Street to close
Contractors will close West Fourth Street between Country Club Court and California Street for sewer maintenance starting Monday, March 30.
A detour will direct traffic to Second Street, according to the city. The work is expected to be complete by mid-April.
More work underway:
• Eisenhower Drive is closing at Eisenhower Place for street maintenance work through the week of April 10.
• The Lawrence Loop is closing at Iowa Street as part of the K-10 expansion project. “The State cannot anticipate how long the closure will last at this time, and further announcements will be made when information is available,” according to the city.
• Crestline Drive is closing south of Oxford Road and south of Westdale Road for installation of speed cushions, according to the city. The closures should end by mid-April.
