Lawrence neighbors are welcome to help bring a street mural to life this weekend near the Lawrence Community Nursery School.
The school and Lawrence artist Dave Loewenstein are creating the mural next to the “Little Red Schoolhouse,” according to event organizers.
“We have worked with LCNS students, OWL neighbors, and the city to design the mural, get your feedback, get all the permits, and now it is the fun part – time to paint!” according to the hosts.
Folks will be painting from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7 at the intersection of Seventh and Alabama streets.
“Everyone is welcome to come paint at any point in this window,” according to the event page. “There will be entertainment (fun, games, food truck) so feel free to come hang out for the day.”
