Two people injured in crash near Clinton Lake

Two people suffered serious injuries in a crash Sunday morning near Clinton Lake and Eagle Bend Golf Course, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

Around 10 a.m. Sunday, a pickup truck left the road and struck a tree in the 1000 block of North 1200 Road, according to DGSO.

Both occupants had to be extricated from the GMC Sierra. One of them was taken by helicopter and the other was taken by ambulance to a Topeka-area hospital with serious injuries, according to DGSO.

Deputies were investigating the cause of the crash as of early Sunday afternoon.
