Mary Ann Williams died September 24, 2025, surrounded by family.
She was born December 4, 1949, in Lawrence, Kansas, the daughter of Homer Paul Bowen and Grace L. Bowen.
She graduated from Linwood High School in 1968 and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Kansas in 1973.
She worked as a substitute teacher, then as the church secretary before getting a job with the University of Kansas with over 25 years of service.
She married John A. Williams on May 24, 1968. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include her brother Paul F. Bowen of Lawrence, Kansas; daughter Stephanie Acheson, her husband John and their daughter, Addison, all of Shawnee, Kansas; son Jeremy Williams, his wife Cassie of Eudora, Kansas and their children, Marcus, Megan and Liz.
Memorial Services will be 11:00 am Saturday, October 18, 2025, at First Baptist Church. Private burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 1330 Kasold Dr, Lawrence, Kansas 66049.
