A Kansas City person was killed and a Lawrence man was seriously injured in a crash on Kansas Highway 10 late Friday in southwestern Lawrence, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The two-vehicle crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. Friday between West 27th Street and Iowa Street.

Eliseo J. Munoz, 23, of Lawrence, was westbound on the highway in a Chevrolet Tahoe, according to the KHP’s crash report.

Munoz went left of center and struck an eastbound Kia Forte driven by 41-year-old Louise ImMasche, of Kansas City, Missouri, head on, according to the report.

Munoz was taken to an Overland Park hospital with suspected serious injuries, according to the report. ImMasche did not survive the crash.

The KHP crash report listed the person killed by a name ImMasche hadn’t used for several years, according to their husband.

A section of the highway was closed until around 4 a.m. Saturday while first responders worked at the scene, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
