Original post:
The Lawrence Police Department is asking the public’s help to locate Lydell Thunder, 70, of Lawrence.
Thunder, who has Alzheimer’s, left his home near 28th Street and Kasold Drive around 1 p.m. Monday and has not returned, according to LPD.
Thunder, a Native American man, is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 155 pounds, according to LPD. He has long gray hair.
He was wearing a maroon zip-up sweatshirt, blue jeans, cowboy boots and a cap.
“We’ve searched the places Mr. Thunder frequents and have followed up on sightings throughout the evening. The last time he was potentially spotted was near 25th and Iowa about 8pm,” police wrote in an update late Monday. “Because of the cold temperatures, time is critical.”
Police ask anyone who sees Thunder to call 911 or call dispatch at 785-843-0250.
The department issued a silver alert late Monday, according to the update.
