Indie rock music of the early 2000s will carry into 2026 at a free downtown Lawrence concert.
I Heart Local Music and the Granada Theater will host “Indie Rewind: A Y2K Tribute Concert” at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 at the Granada, 1020 Massachusetts St.
It’s free to attend, all ages are welcome and no tickets are required, according to a news release.
Local bands lined up to perform tributes to influential artists include:
• Mickey Mouse Slaughterhouse performing The Ting Tings;
• The Sluts performing The White Stripes;
• Hello Biplane performing Yeah Yeah Yeahs;
• Oxytoxin performing The Hives; and
• The Fun Guy performing The Strokes.
Stage performances by drag artists Chay D. Boots and Kansas Campbell will bring a Y2K-era pop twist, according to the release.
Additional activities at the event will include a themed photo booth, a costume contest and local vendors highlighting Lawrence’s arts community.
