The Lawrence school district superintendent will host a series of meetings at various district buildings to elicit feedback from students, staff, families and the local community.
Superintendent Jeanice Swift has hosted her “Community Conversations” since she first entered the district as the interim superintendent in fall 2024.
She told the board on Monday that she plans to share updates on the district’s recent work and listen to feedback and concerns. The public is welcome to attend.
Five meetings are scheduled this month and in February:
• 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20 at New York Montessori School, 936 New York St.
• 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28 at district offices, 110 McDonald Drive
• 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5 at Hillcrest Elementary School, 1045 Hilltop Drive
• 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10 at Woodlawn Elementary School, 508 Elm St.
• 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17 at Billy Mills Middle School, 2734 Louisiana St.
No registration is required. Swift said she will add more dates.
No virtual meeting options are available, but an online survey to provide feedback on the district will go live sometime next week. The community can find it on the district’s website at this link.
