Hear performances by local artists and learn about their songwriting processes at the first 780 Songwriters Circle on Wednesday at the library.
The Lawrence Public Library is hosting the event in conjunction with Kansas Public Radio and Lawrence Music Alliance.
780 Songwriters Circle provides an opportunity for artists to talk about their creative processes and how their songs came to be. The idea is for it to be part performance, part conversation.
Christopher Molla, member of Camper Van Beethoven and host of Wednesday’s event, and Brad Allen, director of the library, spoke about what the event means for the Lawrence community with KPR’s 105 Live.
“Ideally, it will get more local songwriters and musicians into working with the library because it is a great space and it’s definitely a way to reach people that you don’t necessarily have access to if you’re just playing bars and so on,” Molla said.
Featured artists include Jeff Stolz, Suzannah Johannes, and Colin Halliburton of The Roseline.
The event will start at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 in the library auditorium, 707 Vermont St. Registration will be open at this link until the start of the event.
