Three heads of local law enforcement agencies will soon participate in a panel hosted by the local NAACP branch.
Douglas County Sheriff Jay Armbrister, Lawrence Police Chief Rich Lockhart and KU Police Chief Nelson Mosley are slated to speak.
They’ll respond to prepared questions based on community feedback the NAACP has collected, according to information from the organizers.
“They will address issues related to ICE in Lawrence; policies, hiring and training practices; updates on traffic stops; mental health issues; and more,” organizers said in an email.
The panel is set for 2:30 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 4 at the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vermont St.
