Today, the voters of Lawrence will elect three city commissioners and three school board members.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today (Tuesday, Nov. 2).
If you’re registered to vote in Douglas County and you’re not sure where to go to vote, you can find out by entering your information at this link. As long as you’re in line to vote by 7 p.m., you can cast your ballot.
Need a ride? The City of Lawrence has made bus fare free for all fixed-route and paratransit buses on Election Day to encourage voters to make their voices heard.
If you chose to vote early by advance ballot, you can also check the status of your ballot and see whether the county clerk’s office has received it yet by putting in your information at this link. The clerk’s office will count any ballots that are postmarked by Tuesday as long as they are received by Friday, Nov. 5.
The candidates for Lawrence City Commission are Stuart Boley, Ma’Ko’Quah Jones, Lisa Larsen, Bart Littlejohn, Milton Scott and Amber Sellers. Candidates for Lawrence school board are Kay Emerson, GR Gordon-Ross, Kelly Jones, Nate Morsches, Andrew Nussbaum and Elizabeth Stephens.

Lawrence City Commission candidates talk economic development at Chamber’s forum
In between questions about economic issues in Lawrence, such as childcare, local purchasing policy, and the Downtown Master Plan, City Commission candidates explained what role they thought the commission should have in the business community in Wednesday’s forum, hosted by The Chamber of Lawrence.
