Kiley Luckett, counselor at Schwegler Elementary School, has been selected for the position of Lawrence Public Schools mental health coordinator, according to a news release from the school district.
Luckett has been with the district since 2014, according to the release.
“It has been an absolute joy to be the counselor at Schwegler for the past nine years,” Luckett said in the release. “I am thankful for the many lessons I have learned. I will miss the daily interactions with students, staff, and families. I am thrilled to be able to increase my impact and serve the entire district.”
Luckett takes over the role from Jose Cornejo, who has transferred to a social work position at East Heights, according to the release. Her position change is pending school board approval.
“I am excited to work with Kiley Luckett as we continue to provide resources to students, staff, and our school communities to support mental health and social emotional learning in Lawrence Public Schools,” Cynthia Johnson, executive director of inclusion, engagement and belonging, said in the release.
