Lawrence band Carswell & Hope, with special guest vocalist Kirsten Paludan, will perform at their second annual Valentine’s Day Slow Dance Party on Tuesday, and those seeking a romantic night out are welcome.
The band will play a show dedicated to love songs, romance and dancing, according to a news release. They’re also planning a tribute to songwriter Burt Bacharach, who died last week at age 93.
“Our first slow dance party for Valentines Day was in 2020, right before the pandemic, but it’s back by popular demand!” Nick Carswell of Carswell & Hope said in the release. “We are back to give in to our hopelessly romantic sides with songs that other bands are afraid to play. We embrace the wondrous artform that is the epic cheesy love song, and folks get to spend a night dancing like it’s prom night. And in the beautiful setting of Cider Gallery? It’s a win-win.”
The band also recently hosted a Musical Game Night in December and is looking forward to their annual Songs from Ireland concert, coming up in March.
Tickets are $20 for singles or $40 for couples, available at carswellandhope.com/valentines. They include reserved seating, a champagne toast, and chocolates by local chocolatier Paul’s Better Bakery, according to the release.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and music starts at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Cider Gallery, 810 Pennsylvania St.
