City of Lawrence seeks feedback on land development code updates

The City of Lawrence is hosting several meetings this week to gather community feedback on draft updates to the document that lays out the rules and regulations for development in town.

A steering committee has been working since August to update the land development code. The draft of the first module, on zoning districts and uses, is now available to review at this link. There will be three modules.

Several feedback meetings are scheduled for July 19, 20 and 21 at City Hall Riverfront, 1 Riverfront Plaza, Suite 320. There will also be some virtual meetings later this month.

Wednesday, July 19:

• 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.: Roundtable discussions about residential districts and uses

• 3 to 4 p.m.: Roundtable discussions about commercial districts and uses

• 6 to 7:45 p.m.: General meeting about affordable housing

• 8 to 9:45 a.m.: General meeting about sustainability

• 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Roundtable discussions and a brownbag lunch about downtown

• 1 to 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m.: Drop-in meetings on all topics

• 4 to 6 p.m.: Steering committee meeting on all topics

Friday, July 21:

• 8 to 10 a.m.: Roundtable discussions about industrial/special districts and uses

• 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Brown bag lunch discussion about equity
