Hundreds of Lawrence community members showed up Sunday for the 42nd annual Kansas State Fiddling & Picking Championships, also known as FidPick.
In addition to the music on multiple stages, there were vendors, food trucks and fun for the whole family sprawled across South Park.
After a week of dangerous heat, Sunday afternoon’s high temperature in the low 80s was a welcome change for the outdoor festival.
The Kansas State Fiddling & Picking Championships is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving traditional American acoustic music, according to a news release from organizers. It’s funded solely by donations, sponsorships and grants.
