Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health is now offering appointments for physicals.

The department made the decision in response to community demand as work-based and recreational activities often require physical examinations to participate, according to a news release from LDCPH. Adult, day care and sports physicals will now be offered in addition to existing services such as immunizations and family support programs.

“We are thrilled to help increase accessibility and convenience to an essential service needed within the community,” Brittany Schuetz, LDCPH nurse supervisor and APRN-BC/C, said in the release. “Overall, our goal is to better the health and well-being of community and this is one of the many ways we strive to do so!”

To schedule an appointment for a physical examination, call the clinic at 785-843-0721 or send an email to office@ldchealth.org. The Mobile Clinic is also able to provide physical exams now.

Organizations interested in partnering with LDCPH to provide physicals, along with other services, by deploying the mobile unit, can email outreach@ldchealth.org to discuss possibilities.

LDCPH is located at 200 Maine St. in Lawrence, with hours of operation set for 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays. Learn more about LDCPH on its website, ldchealth.org.
