The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Douglas County and much of northeastern Kansas and northwestern Missouri.
Severe storms are also possible Friday night, according to NWS.
“Thunderstorms could redevelop late this afternoon into the evening,” according to a hazardous weather advisory from the NWS in Topeka. “If they do they could be capable of large hail, damaging wind gusts, and an isolated tornado. Any storm that forms will also be capable of torrential rainfall.”
Additional storms are possible Saturday afternoon and evening, according to NWS.
A tornado “watch” means conditions are right for a tornado to be possible. A tornado “warning” means a tornado is imminent.

City of Lawrence snow info:
• The city has snow information and a map at lawrenceks.org/snow that shows information about road conditions and snow plow locations. The city typically begins snow and ice control for residential roadways when 2 or more inches of snowfall or icing occurs.
