One driver was taken to a hospital by ambulance and another driver and a 7-year-old child were taken to a hospital by family members after a crash Friday afternoon on Kansas Highway 10.
The crash occurred around 3:50 p.m. Friday near Wakarusa Drive and K-10, according to a news release from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. One vehicle had rear-ended the other, according to the release.
“Deputies determined a 33-year-old Lee’s Summit, Missouri, woman was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe and was following a 2024 GMC Yukon too closely before rear-ending the Yukon as it was coming to a stop,” according to the release.
The 45-year-old Olathe woman who was driving the Yukon was transported to a Topeka-area hospital by medics.
The Lee’s Summit driver was cited for allegedly not having a proper child safety seat, according to the release. That woman and the 7-year-old were taken to an area hospital by family.
