Staff members and volunteers for Kansas Advocates for Better Care have created a comprehensive guide tailored to help Douglas County folks ages 60 and up find the resources they need.

The Douglas County Senior Resource Directory is a nearly 50-page guide that includes contact information for local organizations offering assistance with everything from adult learning and assisted living to respite care, technology and transportation.

“Within these pages, you’ll find a wealth of support, guidance, and essential numbers to navigate the various aspects of aging with confidence and ease,” KABC wrote of the directory.

Libby Hastings, communication and public relations coordinator for KABC, said she created the guide with support from volunteers who helped to verify resource contact information, and the Douglas County Community Foundation, which provided the grant for the project.

People may order up to 10 copies of the directory at a time via the KABC’s website, kabc.org. The complete guide is available online at this link.

Hastings said if anyone has questions or needs assistance, they can contact KABC at info@kabc.org or 785-842-3088.

KABC is a Lawrence-based nonprofit that advocates for quality long-term care for older adults. Follow them on Facebook at facebook.com/KABC1975.
