Community members are invited to recycle electronics at the Lawrence Public Library’s first Computer and Electronics Recycling Drive on Monday.
The event is in partnership with PCs for People, a nonprofit organization that provides families and people with low incomes with access to technology.
PCs for People will refurbish the donated electronics, “making technology accessible to those who need it most,” according to the library’s event page.
Items that can be accepted at the recycling drive include desktop computers, laptop computers, monitors, keyboards, mice and printers. There will be a $40 charge for all CRT TVs and printers.
Items that cannot be accepted at the event include VHS tapes, CDs, DVDs, fire alarms, smoke detectors, thermometers, lightbulbs, PCB ballasts, batteries, large appliances and kitchen items.
The recycling drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 12 in the Lawrence Public Library Auditorium, 707 Vermont St. No registration is required.
