The Kansas Department of Revenue has announced the winning design for the state’s new personalized license plate.

“Kansans across the state chose the design showcasing the iconic Flint Hills as the next personalized license plate design,” according to a release from KDOR. “The Flint Hills design emerged as the clear favorite, receiving over 56% of the vote.”

People voted online, selecting the plate from five designs unveiled last week.

The new plates will be in production and become available for purchase starting in 2025, according to the release.

“When the new design is available, Kansans can visit their local county treasurer’s office to purchase the new plate for $45.50,” according to the release.

In addition, the “Powering the Future” personalized plate design will no longer be available after Jan. 1, and Kansans who currently have that design must replace their plates during their next renewal periods, according to the release.
