It’s on: The City of Lawrence is challenging residents to participate in a snowplow naming contest.
“From December 6 through December 13, Lawrence residents can submit their most imaginative, hilarious, or heartwarming snowplow name ideas,” according to a city news release Friday morning.
Lawrence residents can visit lawrenceks.org/snow to submit a creative name suggestion. Submissions close at 11:59 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13.
The winner of what is assuredly the honor of a lifetime will be announced Friday, Dec. 20.
Contest judges include City Manager Craig Owens; Cori Wallace, director of communications; Melissa Sieben, Municipal Services and Operations director; and Lawrence City Commissioner Bart Littlejohn.
“Our City of Lawrence Central Maintenance Garage team will proudly place the new name on the snowplow for all to see as it hits the streets this winter,” according to the release.
“… Whether you’re inspired by Lawrence landmarks, local culture, or just want to make your neighbors smile, we encourage everyone to participate in this lighthearted celebration of community pride.”
