Ninth Street will be closed from Emery Road to Iowa Street for all of next week, according to a Tuesday news release from the city.

The closure is for a variety of projects including sanitary sewer work, stormwater system repairs and street patching. The road will close at 9 a.m. Monday, July 19, and remain closed “until the work is completed” — expected to be the afternoon of Friday, July 23, according to the release.

“Local traffic will be maintained at all times,” the release stated. “Property owners and/or occupants will be given a minimum of 48 hours’ notice of any access restrictions to their property and a minimum of 24 hours’ notice of any planned sewer service interruptions.”

Traffic will be detoured to Sixth Street, using Iowa, Tennessee and Kentucky streets.

Bus Route No. 4 will be rerouted around the construction. The eastbound bus will go left on Iowa at Ninth Street, right on Sixth Street, right on Maine and left back onto Ninth. The westbound bus will follow the same streets, in reverse. Read more about that at this link.
