The 2024 primary election was Tuesday, Aug. 6, and the general election was held Tuesday, Nov. 5.
All 125 Kansas House of Representatives seats and 40 Kansas Senate seats were on the ballot, as were Kansas’ four representatives in the U.S. House. The election also included the Douglas County district attorney and four of five Douglas County Commission seats. Some Kansas Board of Education seats as well as retention races for some judges at the state and district court levels were also on the ballot in November.

Voters have decided 4 of 5 Douglas County Commission seats and the county’s top prosecutor position. With most votes counted, incumbent commissioners will keep their seats, and Democrat Dakota Loomis will be the next DA.
Election results: Lawrence voters reject form of government change, approve sales tax increase
Voters said “no” Tuesday to the City of Lawrence’s ballot question on changing the form of government and “yes” to a sales tax increase to support affordable housing and homelessness programs.
Election results: Kansas Senate, House and State Board of Education seats representing Douglas County
Voters have elected candidates to four Kansas Senate and four Kansas House seats that represent parts of Douglas County. Democrat Marci Francisco will keep her Senate seat, and newcomer Democrat Patrick Schmidt won Senate District 19.
Douglas County shatters early in-person voting record; likely second-highest overall turnout
Douglas County voters who cast their ballots early in person shattered the previous record by more than 5,300 votes, and the top election official expects this to be the second highest turnout the county has seen.
First-time voters, families show up to Lawrence polls on Election Day with the future in mind
