As the school community embraced, cried and celebrated all at once Wednesday morning, they carried a common message: We will always be Broken Arrow Eagles.
Broken Arrow Elementary School’s interim principal, Amanda Green, has been selected for a position in which she will help families transitioning out of the two schools that the district is closing after the end of this year.
A school is more than just a building, said parents, students and other community members Saturday at a public hearing on the possible closure of Broken Arrow Elementary. Instead, they said, it’s part of a community.
The Lawrence school district has announced that Amanda Green, a curriculum and instructional learning coach at Broken Arrow Elementary School, will fill the position of interim principal, effective July 1.
